Returns & Refunds Policy (EU / Netherlands)

1) Right of withdrawal (standard, non-custom items)

If you are a consumer (B2C) in the EU/EEA and you buy from our webshop, you have the legal right to cancel your purchase within 14 days after receiving your order, without giving a reason.

To use your right of withdrawal, email us within 14 days of delivery at contact@vanlinnen.nl and include your order number and the items you want to return.

After you notify us, you must send the items back within 14 days.

2) Custom-made / made-to-measure items (no withdrawal)

The right of withdrawal does not apply to items that are made specifically to your measurements or specifications. This includes:

  • Made-to-measure curtains

  • Custom-made items produced according to your requested size or specifications

These items cannot be returned or cancelled unless they are damaged, defective, or incorrect (see section 6).

3) Condition of returns (standard items)

Returned items must be:

  • Unused, clean, and in the same condition as received

  • Returned in original packaging where possible

You may inspect products as you would in a physical shop. If an item has been used or handled more than necessary to assess it, we may deduct an amount for loss of value.

4) Return shipping costs (standard items)

For returns under the right of withdrawal, you are responsible for the direct cost of return shipping unless we confirm otherwise in writing. Shipping costs are non-refundable.

We recommend using a tracked shipping method. You are responsible for the parcel until it reaches us.

5) Refunds (standard items)

When you withdraw within the legal period and return the items, we will refund:

  • The purchase price of the returned items, and

  • The original standard shipping costs (if applicable)

We will process the refund within 14 days from the day you informed us of your withdrawal. We may wait to issue the refund until we have received the returned goods or you have provided proof of return.

Refunds are made using the same payment method you used for the purchase (unless agreed otherwise). If you selected a more expensive delivery option than standard shipping, the additional cost is not refunded.

6) Damaged, defective, or incorrect items (including custom-made)

If your order arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact us as soon as possible at contact@vanlinnen.nl with your order number and clear photos (if applicable).

If the issue is confirmed, we will offer an appropriate solution in line with consumer law, such as repair, replacement, or refund where applicable. This also applies to custom-made curtains and custom-made items.

7) Hygiene / sealed goods (if applicable)

For hygiene reasons, we cannot accept returns of sealed products that are not suitable for return due to health or hygiene once unsealed.

8) Exchanges

We only offer exchanges for items that are defective, damaged, or incorrect. For standard items, if you would like a different size or colour, please return the original item under the right of withdrawal and place a new order.

9) Proof of purchase

For any return or refund request, we require proof of purchase (order confirmation or receipt). Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer.

10) Late or missing refunds

If you have not received your refund, please:

  1. Check your bank account again

  2. Contact your payment provider (credit card/PayPal) as processing may take time

  3. Contact your bank, as posting times can vary
